Just Us Girls #403 - Photo Week

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Bobby has chosen a perfect photo for our inspiration!

Once again we have the amazing Aileen Ryan with us as our Guest Designer!  Come on over to see what Aileen and the rest of the JUGS Design Team have created with this photo as inspiration.

I started out with the little watermelon image and made a border then colored them with Touch Twin Markers.  Stamped, colored and cut out the picnic basket and added it to the circle that was first sprayed with shimmer mist and then inked through a stencil.  I just had to add the little ant down in the corner.

Come play along with us in our Color Week Challenge and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #399 - Photo Week

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Lisa has the perfect photo for our inspiration!

I would like to take this time to thank Estelle, our June Guest Designer for joining us this past month and sharing all of her awesome creations!  Now, hop on over to JUGS to see what Cheryl and the rest of the Design Team have created using this photo for inspiration.

I was inspired by the sand and water.   I used a technique by Jennifer McGuire - Wrapped Watercolor.  I used Twinkling H2Os on watercolor paper and crinnkled up some plastic wrap and laid it on top of the wet paint and let it dry overnight.   Added the sand dollar from Reverse Confetti which had the edges sponged with Distress Ink and the sentiment from Gina K.

Come play along with us and show us how the photo inspires you and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #398 - Color Week

It's Color Week at Just Us Girls and Bobby has chosen a beautiful color combo for us to work with.

Visit our JUGS blog to see how these colors inspired Estelle our June Guest Designer and the rest of the Design Team.

Some Kraft Core Core'dinations was used for the embossed brick wall, then it was sanded and sponged with some Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  The print background is a piece of a bag that my stamp order came in, I crinkled it up then adhered it to some cardstock and inked the edges and the raised crinkles with some more Walnut Stain.  The Tim Holtz bird was colored with Prismacolor pencils and die cut.  Used some words from an old Gina K set, Calendar Bits and Pieces, to build the sentiment on the layered fishtail tag.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

I am also adding this to The Male Room Challenge - Off the Edge

Just Us Girls #397 - Trend Week

Chris has a great Trend Challenge for us at Just Us Girls, however, I don't own any of these so I had to improvise!

Come on over to JUGS to see what our June Guest Designer - Estelle and the rest of the Design Team have created using powdered dyes.

Since I didn't have any powdered dyes I came up with the idea to use Kool-Aid!  I thought about using some Rit Dye, but the Kool-Aid was more readily available.  I sprinkled some Blue Raspberry Lemondae and some Lemon-Lime Kool-Aid on some watercolor paper and misted it.  It was a little sticky after it dried, so I sprayed it with some matte sealer.  Stamped the big sentiment from Concord & 9th with Versamark and heat embossed with black ep.

Now it's your turn to show us your creation using powdered dyes.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
