Just Us Girls Wild Card Week #243

This month has a fifth week, so it is time for our Wild Card Challenge brought to us by Sharyn!  We were challenged to make a shaving cream background.

This is also our last week with our May Guest Designer - Barbara Campbell.  She has really wowed us with her creations.

Red and Yellow reinkers were dripped onto shaving cream and swirled together for the background.  I wasn't sure how it would turn out stamping directly onto the background, but it worked great.  Stamped the sentiment, masked it with some Post-It tape and stamped the balloon strings with Versafine Onyx ink.  The balloons were stamped with Memento Luxe and Hero Arts Neon inks.  Washi tape on white cardstock and cut the end into a fishtail.  Added some Paper Pen dots in red and blue.

Now it's your turn to play along with us for a chance to become our Guest Designer for the entire month of July.  Can't wait to see all of the fabulous creations that this photo inspires.

STAMPlorations Sketch Challenge #12

Playing along with the sketch challenge at STAMPlorations.  Their design team has some great samples for inspiration.

And also CASology with the Cue Card Flowers

I cut a piece of burlap paper by DCWV (it's paper backed burlap) and smeared a light layer of spackle then stamped the Retro Mod Shapes "flowers" with Memento Inks.  Forgot to leave room for the sentiment  on the burlap, so stamped it right below.  Added a couple fishtail tags and some orange Viva Decor Paper Pen pearls.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls Photo Inspiration

Vicki is our challenge hostess this week with a gorgeous photo inspiration.

Barbara Campbell is with us again this week as our Guest Designer for the month of May.

My inspiration came from the rug and the vases.  I cut and pieced strips of black and white striped patterned paper for the background then added a silver embossed flourish.  The vases and flowers are from STAMPlorations.  Added some clear Wink of Stella to the vases and a bit of yellow Wink of Stella to the flower centers, then added a couple of dots of Viva Decor Pearl Pen in yellow.

Now it's your turn to play along with us for a chance to become our Guest Designer for the entire month of July.  Can't wait to see all of the fabulous creations that this photo inspires.

Just Us Girls Color Challenge #241

It's a color challenge at Just Us Girls this week and I love what Lisa has chosen as the color combo.

Barbara Campbell is with us again this week as our Guest Designer for May with her wonderful design.

First I stamped the flowers and leaves with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  Brushed water over the images and then dabbed on some diluted orchid ink.  For the leaves I used Distress Inks and added some yellow Wink of Stella to the flower centers.  Used a border punch on some kraft cardstock and added some Pearl Pen pearls in white.  The splatters are a stencil from STAMPlorations ( I still haven't gotten the hang of splattering).  Tied on some light purple and white baker's twine and adhered to a Orchid Opulence card base.  I know I need a lot more practice at this watercolor technique!

After I got my first card done, I wasn't too sure about it, so I made another one.  I used the Tri Square die from Simon Says Stamp on the kraft cardstock then ran it through my Big Shot in a striped embossing folder. Stamped the flowers, by STAMPlorations in Brilliance ink and added some Pearl Pen white dots to the flower centers and some light purple Pearl Pen dots.  Stamped the sentiment over a stamped patterned strip, also by STAMPlorations.  Tied on the baker's twine and added another dot of Pearl Pen in a deeper orchid color to the center of the bow.

Grunge Birthday

Playing with the sketch at STAMPlorations.

I inked the brick embossing folder with Distress Ink in Black Soot and ran it through my Big Shot on gray cardstock, then sponged more Black Soot around the edges.  The main panel uses stamps and stencils from STAMPlorations in various inks and the little tabs are stamps from the new release at STAMPlorations (thanks Shery!)  I am loving my new stamps and stencils!  I am really splatter impaired and these stamps and stencils are perfect to get the effect without all of the mess.

Thanks for visiting!

Just Us Girls Technique Challenge #240

It's my turn once again to host the challenge at Just Us Girls.  This week is a technique challenge - Kissing.  Here is a link to Splitcoaststampers for a tutorial on Kissing.

We also have Barbara Campbell, our May Guest Designer participating with us.

I inked up the flowers with Memento Cantaloupe then inked a dotted stamp with Memento Tangelo and stamped it onto the flower.  I huffed it and stamped onto the cardstock.  Added some Pearl Pen dots in Orange and Salmon.  Added a strip of washi tape down the side.  The sentiment was placed where it is due to getting a smudge on my card that couldn't be hidden any other way.

Electric Neon

Playing with a few challenges:

CASology - Electric

And CASual Fridays - Three Thirds

And Mod Squad Challenge - One Layer Wonder

I used stamps from STAMPlorations and Hero Arts Neon Inks.  I used 3 colors of neon and 3 sequins and stamped on only 1/3 of the card for the Three Thirds Challenge.  And for the Electric challenge, the colors are electric neon.

Thanks for taking a look!

Just Us Girls Sketch Challenge #239

We are having a sketch challenge this week at Just Us Girls.  Check out the fun sketch that Cheryl has come up with!

I would also like to welcome our Guest Designer for the month of May
Barbara Campbell - My Creative Room!

This sweet little girl was colored with Prismacolor markers.  The little heart colored with a pink Sakura Stardust gel pen and the buttons with Sakura white Souffle gel pen.  The polka dot and diagonal striped pieces on the strip are washi tape.  Punched the sentiment out with the Word Window punch and added a couple of Paper Pen dots.  The card base is by Core'dinations, love that textured finish.

You could be our next Guest Designer, all you need to do is play along with us.  We can't wait to see what you create!

STAMPlorations!

I am so excited to be the May Guest Designer for the monthly challenge at STAMPlorations!  The theme is Stamps and Flowers.

I used the wonderful stamps that I won from STAMPlorations - Eclectic Florals.  I was going for a watercolor look.  I inked the flowers with Tim Holtz Distress Ink and misted it, then stamped onto white cardstock.  I wanted a little more definition, so I repeated the inking and misting.

Thanks for stopping by!

Three-Thirds

There is a fun challenge going on at CASual Fridays.  You are to use 3 of something and only 1/3 of the card!

First I stamped and heat embossed with clear ep on watercolor paper.  Added some Distress Stains and misted to let the colors run and blend together.  When it was dry, I ironed between sheets of paper to remove the embossing powder.  I used a triple circle die from Simon Says and also die cut some white cardstock with the same die to stamp the flowers from STAMPlorations on.  Added sequins and Pearl Pen dots to the flower centers.  Punched the sentiment out with a Word Window punch and added a couple more Pearl Pen dots.  The part that took the longest on this was letting the Pearl Pen dots dry!

Thanks for taking a look!
