JUGS Challenge #247 - Photo Inspiration

Marisa has a very trendy photo for our inspiration this week.  Love the colors and the elements.

This is also, our last week with our current Guest Designer, Shirley-Bee!  Shirley has been a super GD with all of her wonderful creations for the 5 weeks of June!  Thanks so much, Shirley.

I was inspired by the colors and the chevron wall.  Flowers from Gina K were stamped with Versamark on watercolor paper and heat embossed with white ep, then watercolored with Distress Inks. It's hard to see in the photo, but the gray shading around the flowers is more even than it looks, only the darker areas showed up in the photo.  Added some photo corners and dots of black Viva Decor Paper Pen.

This is the first card I made using rub ons and turquoise, white and black Viva Decor Paper Pens.  The only stamping is the sentiment which is punched out of the background and placed in like a puzzle piece.

Just a reminder:  If you win Chic of the Week in any of our June challenges, you are in the running to be chosen as our Guest Designer for the month of August.

Just Us Girls #246 - Color Challenge

I am loving this week's color challenge brought to us by Maria!  These colors are just so sunshiny and fun.

Don't forget to check out Guest Designer Shirley-Bee's creation, too.

I had a little fun with various circle and dot stamps and added the bold, fun sentiment from Gina K.
Inks used:  Memento Morocco, Dandelion and Tangelo.  Also added a few dots of orange Stickles.

Now it's your turn to play along with us for a chance to become our Guest Designer for the entire month of August.  Can't wait to see all of the fabulous creations that these colors inspire.

Birthday & Stenciled You Rock

I made another one for the STAMPlorations June Challenge

Using more STAMPlorations stamps!  I stamped the strips in various inks and added the sentiment in black.  Added a strip of yellow cardstock with a punched border and added some black glaze pen dots.

I've also got one for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Stencil It.

Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog

Ink was sponged through the large background stencil and then the whole background was misted with color mist.  Sponged the waves and lines on top of the mist. The guitar was stamped and heat embossed, then colored with Touch Twin Markers.  Sentiment stamped with VersaFine Onyx.  The stencils are from STAMPlorations.

Thanks for dropping by!

Artsy Birthday

I came up with an artsy card for my artsy niece! It was inspired by the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.

Also playing in these challenges:

 Colour Me

And STAMPlorations

Added Distress Stain in Old Paper and Pumice Stone to misted watercolor paper and misted again to allow the colors to run a little. Dried with heat gun and added more Distress Stains in Peeled Paint and Broken China, then misted again. Heat gun again. Stamped the copper swipes and circle stains (Distress Inks). Added the sentiment in VersaFine Onyx after heat setting the copper.  All stamps used by STAMPlorations.

Thanks for taking a look!

Just Us Girls Technique Challenge #245

It's my turn to host the challenge at Just Us Girls again and it's a technique challenge.  My challenge is to create a watercolor look with stamps.  Ink up your solid stamps with dye ink, mist the inked stamp and stamp onto cardstock.  This will give your image a soft, watercolored look.  For an even softer look, stamp off on a scrap piece of paper first, then stamp your cardstock.

Shirley-Bee is with us again this week as our June Guest Designer.

I inked up the the flowers from Gina K's Lean on Me with TH Distress Ink in Dried Marigold, misted with water, stamped off on some scrap paper then onto the cardstock. I really liked how this turned out with the variation in the color.  Repeated the same process for the stems with Distress Ink in  Forest Moss.  The background was a practice piece from the Online Watercolor Class that I really like how it turned out.  Stamped the sentiment, another Gina K, with Memento Espresso Truffle.

I had to do one more!

This one I added some more depth with some Twinkling H2Os.

Now it's your turn to play along with us for a chance to become our Guest Designer for the entire month of August.  Can't wait to see all of the fabulous creations that this technique inspires you to do.

Just Us Girls #244 - Sketch Challenge

Nancy has provided us with a fun sketch for our challenge this week at Just Us Girls

We would also like to welcome our new Guest Designer for the month of June - Shirley Bampton aka Shirley-Bee!

I won some fun wooden shapes a while ago from a Mod Squad Challenge and decided not to hoard them any longer.  I layered burlap squares onto a brown piece of cardstock, then added some kraft rounded squares and the brown striped circles are punched from a box.  Used a piece of green gingham patterned paper on a kraft base.  Added a strip of green ribbon adhered with Scor-Tape and attached the folded piece of ribbon with my TH Tiny Attacher and another little bird.  Sentiment is from STAMPlorations.

Thanks to Vicki Dutcher, I now have another new blog to follow djkardcreations and she has her first every challenge for anything goes (friendship theme).  The items I have never used before are the wooden birds and my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.

Now it's your turn to play along with us for a chance to become our Guest Designer for the entire month of August.  Can't wait to see all of the fabulous creations that this sketch inspires you to make.
