Just Us Girls Challenge #260- Photo Week

It's photo inspiration week and it's my turn to host the challenge at Just Us Girls.  I love fall with it's beautiful colors and came across this photo on Pinterest.  I hope this inspires you to join in.

The JUGS Design Team along with our September Guest Designer Bobby Hagen have come up with some real beauties.  I would like to thank Bobby for being such a fantastic Guest Designer for us this past month.

Stamped the images on kraft by stamping the pumpkins first, masking them then stamped the fence.  Used distress markers to color everything, including white on the fence.  The pumpkins weren't bright enough, so went over them with Inktense watercolor pencils and blended.  Still wasn't happy so added some clear Wink of Stella to them.  Colored the little wooden bird with a Touch Twin marker and perched him on the fence.

If you win Chic of the Week in any of our  September challenges, you could be chosen to be our Guest Designer for the month of November,  so come play along with us!  Good luck!  And please limit your entries to only 3.

STAMPlorations Sketch Challenge #20

Awesome sketch this week at STAMPlorations

I used STAMPlorations Chevron and Arrows to make my strips, stamped in Memento Nautical Blue.  Stamped the sentiment from the same set in Memento Lady Bug.  Die cut the sentiment and added navy gel pen dots to frame it.  Added the red strip and button tied with twine because the sentiment layer seemed to get lost in the arrows.

Thanks for visiting!

Just Us Girls Challenge #259 - Color Challenge

Nancy has picked some beautiful, soft colors for our Color Challenge at Just Us Girls.

The JUGS Design Team along with our September Guest Designer, Bobby Hagen have created some beautiful cards with this color combo.

Stamped the flower image from Gina K's Stippled Nature with Brilliance ink then added some touches with Pink Wink of Stella marker.  Added the sentiment in Memento Rose Bud.  I had to use the Air Vent die then die cut the edges with a Spellbinders die.  Lastly, I added the dots of Viva Decor Cream Pearl Pen.  The card base and image panel are ivory even though it look a little pinky in the photo.

If you win any of our challenges in the month of September, you could be chosen as our Guest Designer for the entire month of November.  Entries are limited to 3, please.  Good luck!

Soccer Birthday

I made this for my grandson Max who is turning 5 soon and he loves playing soccer.
I used the sketch from Cardabilities

First I stamped a bunch of soccer balls with Versafine Onyx ink and then punched them out.  Arranged them on the green striped paper and added some washi tape.  I found a chipboard 5 in my stash, colored it with a Touch Twin marker and it just wasn't bright enough, so I used some Versamark and 3 layers of red embossing powder.

Thanks for taking a look!

NBUS Challenge #2 and Stripes

I just love Darnell's NBUS blog, she is just so much fun!  She has her second challenge up to use Never Before Used Schtuff with an optional twist.  Check her out!

Never-Before-Used-Schtuff (Stamps, Dies, EFs, etc.)

I went with option #1 to make a Christmas Card.

The tree image is from the very first stamp set I ever purchased and yet, never used this particular image.  Another NBUS I used was my new Encore Bronze ink.  I used a striped embossing folder for the brown background and some Wink of Stella marker in yellow on the star.

I am also entering this in the Mod Squad Challenge - Simply Stripes

Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls Challenge #258 - Water-Coloring

Vicki has asked to do some water-coloring for our Trend Week at Just Us Girls.  This is such a hot trend right now and I hope it continues for a while.  Love the look you get with all of the different water-coloring techniques.

Don't forget to check out what our September Guest Designer, Bobby and the rest of the rest of the JUGS Design Team have created.

I started by heat embossing the flower image with White Pearl embossing powder on watercolor paper and then watercoloring with Distress Inks.  Then added some drips of ink for some speckles.  Images and colored cardstock by Gina K.

This was my first attempt at this challenge, definitely need more practice at this technique!  Stamped the images with Antique Linen Distress Ink then watercolored over it all.

If you win Chic of the Week in any of our  September challenges, you will be in the running to be our Guest Designer for the month of November .  Please limit you entrires to 3 new creations per person, no backdating.  Good luck!

STAMPlorations Challenges

STAMPlorations challenge this month is Stamps and Markers

and the Bi-Weekly Sketch Challenge

First is for the Stamps & Markers Challenge.  I heat embossed the flower with white pearl ep then watercolored with Distress Markers.  Used pink Heidi Swapp Shine Spray on the panel behind the floral panel.  Lightly splattered some Spun Sugar Distress Ink and then lightly spritzed some clear shimmer spray.  Added a couple of photo corners and a couple of dots of pink Pearl Pen.

Now for the Sketch Challenge.  I stamped the flowers from Eclectic Florals, drew lines for stems and stamped the leaves (Retro Mod Shapes).  The sentiment is from Chevron and Arrows set.  Added some accents with Wink of Stella Markers.  Used my Air Vent die to cut the panel and a Spellbinders small scalloped border die on the sides.

Thanks for taking a look!

Just Us Girls Challenge #257

Fall is rapidly approaching and Cheryl has challenged us to use a leaf or leaves on our projects at Just Us Girls.  They wouldn't necessarily have to be fall leaves because we still have some green leaves around here.

.
We would also like to welcome our September Guest Designer - Barbara Hagen!

I went with a CAS and one layer design.

I pulled out a very old set by Inkadinkado and inked it with Memento Luxe inks in Dandelion then tapped on some Love Letter in spots and stamped it onto the kraft base.  When the inks were completely dry I stamped the sentiment from Gina K with Versamark and heat embossed with copper ep.  Very quick and simple!

Don't forget to check out the rest of  the JUGS Designers with all of their gorgeous creations!

Good luck everyone, because you could be chosen as our Chic of the Week and all of our Chics from the month of September are in the running to be our Guest Designer for the month of November.

Can't wait to see all of your entries for this week's Word Challenge!

I would like to enter this into a couple of other challenges as well:
Curtain Call - Leaves
Lawnscaping - One Layer Card
