Celebrate in Silver and Gold

Playing along with the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches

.

This was really hard to get a decent photo of.  I used dp from DCWV metallics, some silver glitter paper and Ivory cardstock.  Dies and punches were used from various companies.  The little stars by WPlus9 were stamped with Delicata Golden Glitz ink.

Thanks for stopping by!

18th Birthday

My niece/goddaughter turns 18 on Christmas Eve!  Where have the years gone?  The theme at CAS on Sunday is Stars, this may be stretching the CAS just a bit.

For your blog

Made the shaker with pink and purple sequins and framed it with a scalloped circle.  Added a strip of washi tape just above the sentiment and added a glittery die cut star with a little die cut bow.

Thanks for taking a look!

Earthy Christmas

The challenge currently at The Male Room is Christmas or Seasonal Greetings.

My MISTI makes creating this card very easy.  First stamped the music background twice in Memento Rich Cocoa.  Stamped the tree with Olive Distress Ink and then stamped the sentiment with Memento Luxe Rhubarb Stalk all on ivory cardstock.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Twelve Days - Day 12

It's the 12th day of The Twelve Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist at The Classroom.  The talented designers - Sandy Allnock and Dawn Woleslagle have some beautiful examples for inspiration.

Day 12 Ornaments

My inspiration if from Dawn's ornament tags inspired by the shape.  Once again I had to improvise since I didn't have any ornament dies.  I used a Spellbinders lattice frame die, sponged on gold and copper alcohol inks for my ornament shape.  Threaded some pink floss around the opening and tied it off in a bow.  The die cut tree has little "lights" made with Sakura gel pens and then backed with some pink glitter paper.  Sentiment is heat embossed with periodot ep, which is a darkish gold and layered onto a scalloped oval which was colored with more gold alcohol ink and then onto a dark brown strip to make it stand out.

Thank you to all of the wonderful Designers that have inspired me throughout The Classrooms's Twelve Days of Christmas with a Feminine Twist!

Twelve Days - Day 11

It's the eleventh day of The Twelve Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist at The Classroom!
.Sharon Harnist and Jean Manis are the amazing designers sharing their talents for our inspiration.

Day 11 Twas the Night Before Christmas

I was inspired by Sharon's tag with the blended background.  I didn't have any stamps or dies of Santa with his team of reindeer, so I went with this biblical scene.  Sponged and blended Distress Inks in Faded Jeans and Broken China on the background.  Stamped the image and the stars with Delicata Golden Glitz ink.  Stamped the sentiment with Memento Nautical Blue on some pale yellow cardstock and sponged some Memento Cantaloupe ink around the edges.

Thanks for visiting!

Just Us Girls #323 - Trend Week

Lisa is our hostess for Trend Week at Just Us Girls and we get to play with sequins!  This will be our last challenge of the year so we can spend the time enjoying our families during the holiday season.

I used blue Brilliance Ink and it is really hard to photograph!  The large snowflake is from Stampendous, little ones are Gina K and the sentiment is Inkadinkado, which was stamped with Memento Luxe Love Letter.  I tend to shy away from sequins because I never seem to like the placements and just finally settle on a spot.

Get out your sequins and come play along with us, who knows, you could be chosen as our Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running to be our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Twelve Tags - Day 10

The tenth day of the Twelve Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist at The Classroom is a sketch with inspiration from Designers Carly Minner and Kelly Alvarez!

Day 10 Sketch 2

I was inspired with Kelly's tag with the fun stripes.  Gina K snowflakes are heat embossed with white ep and the sentiment was stamped with Memento Rose Bud.  The snowflakes on the striped background weren't showing up very well, so I sponged a little ink over them and around the edge of the tag.

Thanks for stopping in!

Twelve Tags - Day 9

It's the 9th day of The Twelve Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist at The Classroom!  The Designers, - Heather Campbell and Melania Deasy have some beautiful creations with this sketch.

Day 9 Sketch 1

I was inspired by the sparkle, colors and fishtail tag by Heather.  Die cut a rectangle on the fishtail tag and added some curved pieces that were inked on the upper edges and spritzed with sparkly spray.  Stamped the "snowflakes" on the background with Versamark and heat embossed with Snowflake embossing powder.  Die cut the tree from Core'dinations Glitter Silk and tied a bow to the top.

I am loving the tags this year, thanks for all of the inspiration!

Twelve Tags - Day 8

It's day 8 at The Classroom for The Twelve Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist.  There is some beautiful inspiration from Designers Lisa Adametz and Jill Foster.

Day 8 Nontradtional Color and Texture

I was inspired by the texture on Lisa's tag and the colors on Jill's tag. Watercolored the background with Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemonade and Peacock Feathers, dried it with a heat gun.  Made a stencil with a Spellbinders cover plate die, laid it on the tag and added some modeling paste.  While it dried I stamped the poinsettia from Gina K with Versamark and heat embossed with green ep, then watercolored it with Inktense watercolor pencils in pink and purple.  Added some clear Wink of Stella over the color.  Punched and die cut some leaves and arranged around the poinsettia.  Stamped the little joy tag with Memento Sweet Plum and tied it on with some baker's twine.

Thanks for stopping by!

Twelve Tags - Day 7

It's the 7th day of The Twelve Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist at The Classroom!

Day 7 Santa

I was inspired by Julie's tag with the watercolor background.  Stamped the numbers background with Versamark and clear embossed then added some Distress Inks watercoloring with Victorian Velvet and Tattered Rose.  Heat embossed with red ep on the vintage Santa and the sentiment.  Added a fishtail tag to the top and layered on a snowflake and red rhinestone.

Thanks for stopping in!

Twelve Tags - Day 6

Fun technique and inspiration for the Twelve Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist at The Classroom  with designers  Jennifer McGuire and Kelly Purkey!

Day 6 Snowflake 2

I was inspired by the technique on Jennifer's tag.  I don't have any snowflake dies that would work for this, so I used a balloon die, upside down and added the ornament topper and adhered the snowflake on top of the glitter.  Loved the idea of using some fun foam for the sentiment, too.

Twelve Days - Day 5

Back to The Classroom for another day of The Twelve Day of Christmas with a Feminine Twist!  Inspiration is provided by Carissa Wiley and Kryssi Ng with Glitz and Glitter!

Day 5 Glitz and Glitter

I was inspired by all of that gorgeous gold and silver and the glittery goodness on Carissa's tag.  Love how Carissa used the fishtail tag on the top of her tag.  Glitter paper in gold and silver was used for the star, wreath and little fishtail tag.  Stamped the stars by WPlus9 on the cream fishtail tag with Golden Glitz ink.  Finished it off with some gold cord.

Thanks for visiting!

Snowflakes

The challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is Snowflakes.  So perfect for this time of year.

And TIME OUT Challenge is Snowflakes are Winter's Butterflies

This was so quick and easy!  Die cut the snowflake border and spsritzed with some shimmer spray.  Adhered to the light blue card base and stamped the Joy sentiment with Memento Luxe Love Letter using my MISTI.

Thanks for dropping in!

Just Us Girls #322 - Word Week

Christmas is closing in on us and Ina has chosen the word "Merry" for our Word Week Challenge at Just Us Girls to help us finish up any last minute Christmas cards.

I used a tree cover-up over some very old SU Vintage Violet cardstock.  Stamped some little dots with WPlus9 white ink on the background and made a couple of  hills with a couple different curved dies, then inked the edges of the hills.  The deer is by Tim Holtz.

Come and show us how "Merry" inspires you.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Twelve Days - Day 4

It's Day 4 at The Classroom for the Twelve Days of Christmas with a Feminine Twist and they have inspiration from  Julia Stainton and Kay Miller!

Day 4 Snowflake 1

I was inspired by the lovely, soft colors on Kay's tag and the dimension on Julia's tag.  Die cut the tag with a falling dots cover plate, added a snowflake strip die cut, die cut tree and the sentiment.  The tree didn't quite turn out the way I envisioned it.  First I sponged white ink on the tree while still in the die, didn't show up very well, so tried a white Wink of Stella pen over that, then some Distress Stickles and finally added some white ep and heat embossed which caused the white to bubble up a little actually looking more like snow.

Thanks for stopping by!

Twelve Tags - Day 3

The Classroom has the Twelve Days of Christmas with a Feminine Twist going on.  Today's inspiration is from Laurel Beard and Penny Ward.

Day 3 MixItUp and Color

I was inspired by the colors on both tags and the design in the photo.  Die cuts are from Cottage Cuts and heart banner is from WPlus9.  Heat embossed the banner with red ep and added a strip of washi tape across the bottom.  Colored the sled runner with a silver Sharpie pen and added some white gel pen highlights, too.

Thanks for taking a look!  Can't wait to see tomorrow's inspiration.

Twelve Tags - Day 2

It's day 2 of The Twelve Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist at The Classroom with

Kittie Caracciolo and Dina Kowal with their gorgeous examples inspired by this photo

Day 2 Color Palette

I was inspired by Kittie's tag with the wood and the dimension. This is definitely a CASE of Kittie's tag.  Woodgrain embossing folder swiped with Weathered Wood Distress Ink.  Various Sizzix die cuts and a leafy/fern punch.  Coated the flower with Red Wink of Stella and added some yellow Viva Decor Pearl Pen to the center.  Finished it off with some sparkly candy dots and red baker's twine.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Twelve Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist 2015 Day 1

I love the Twelve Tags inspiration over at Ellen Hutson's The Classroom and today is Day 1 with this photo for inspiration along with Carolyn Peeler and Stephanie Wincott.

Day 1 Pinterest

I was inspired by the watercolor and design of Carolyn's tag.  The aqua colors on my tag look more blue in the photo.  I followed the design by Carolyn Peeler.  The pink panel with the snowflakes was watercolored with pinks.  The added stitches are all rub ons, I just don't sew.
Looking forward to Day 2!  Thanks for visiting!

Thank You Sketch

Playing along this week with CAS(E) this Sketch!

And The Male Room - Thanksgiving or Thanks

And Addicted to CAS - Dimension

Stamps are from the  Gina K set - Stamp It Big! designed by Caroline King.  I used Memento Inks in Bahama Blue, Dandelion, Love Letter and I can't remember which green, going with bold, primary colors for a more masculine feel.  Stamped the big Thanks then positioned the square patterned stamps below it using my MISTI to line everything up. Die cut the little bows and small strips of matching cardstock and glued to the "presents".  This was going to be a one layer card, but I got a smudge on it,

Just Us Girls #321 - Photo Inspiration

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Vicki has a gorgeous photo to inspire us!  Those ornaments are absolutely gorgeous!

I would like to thank Louise Hodge for sharing her talent with us this past month as our Guest Designer.  Come check out how Louise and the rest of the Design Team at JUGS were inspired by this photo.

+

This is my first try at a Bokeh technique.  Stamped the ornament on the same pink cardstock as the background and embossed it with silver tinsel ep and cut it out.  It didn't stand out quite enough, so then cover the whole ornament with Versamark and clear embossed it.  Added the sentiment with silver ep.

Come play along with us and you could be our next Chic of the Week,  which would put you in the running to becoming our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #320 - Color Week

Sharon is our hostess this week at Just Us Girls and her color choice is perfect for me since I need to get some Christmas cards done!

Come on over to JUGS to see what our Guest Designer - Louise Hodge and the rest of the JUGS Design Team have created with this beautiful colors.

Stamped and heat embossed the image with gold ep then colored in with Inktense Watercolor pencils and a waterbrush.  The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with a warm red ep.  I couldn't decide if I should layer green or red beneath the main panel and totally switched gears and added Versamark all around the edge of the layer and heat embossed with gold ep to match the image perfectly.

Now it's your turn to come on over to Just Us Girls and play along with our Color Challenge.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week which would then make you eligible to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Golden Sympathy

Another sympathy card.  I don't like having to need so many of these lately.

The tag is die cut  from ivory cardstock then I dragged my Golden Glitz ink pad across it.   Stamped the leaves and sentiment and tied on some raffia and gold cord.  Stamped a script background strip down the side with Memento Soft Sand ink.

Just Us Girls #319 - Trend Week

Maria is challenging us this week at Just Us Girls to use Watercoloring on our creations.

Come on over to Just Us Girls to see what our November Guest Designer, Louise Hodge and the rest of the JUGS Design Team have done with watercolor.

Colored the flowers with Distress Markers, misted and stamped on watercolor paper.  Then added more water with a paintbrush for the colors to bleed a little more.  After it completely dried, stamped the sentiment with Memento Espresso Truffle ink.   Layered on some dark brown cardstock with the edges distressed and onto an artichoke base.

Now it's your turn to play with some watercolor.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week which would then make you eligible to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
