Just Us Girls #317 - Wild Card

This month we have a 5th week, so that means that it's Wild Card time at Just Us Girls!  Sharyn is our hostess and has challenged us to  make a one layer card.

I would like to thank Julie Gearinger our Guest Designer this past month for being such a wonderful Guest Designer and sharing all of her awesome creations with us!  Now come on over to the JUGS blog to see what Julie and the rest of the JUGS DT have created!

I stamped and masked the poinsettias from Gina K A Year of Flowers on kraft, then colored with Prismacolor markers.  The sentiment is heat embossed with gold ep, which is hard to see in the photo, but stands out nicely irl.

Show us your One Layer Cards and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible to be chosen as our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

I am also entering this into a couple of other challenges, too.

Thanks for dropping by!

Engagement!

Best wishes to my niece on her engagement!

I used the sketch from CAS on Sunday

And the Cue Card from CASology

This is just one layer, created by masking.  The border was stamped with Avery Elle Kraft ink, the hearts with Memento Lady Bug and Rhubarb Stalk and the sentiment with Memento Black.  The sentiment is a dollar stamp from Michael's, large heart and border by SU and small heart by Gina K.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

Just Us Girls #316 - Photo Week

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Ina has chosen a very cool photo for our inspiration.

Check out our challenge blog at JUGS to see how this photo has inspired our Guest Designer Julie Gearinger and the rest of the Design Team.

I was obviously inspired by the shelf and colors.  Die cut the hexagons and layered offset with the red and black.  The hardest part was finding stamps that would fit in the openings.

How does this photo inspire you?  Come and play along with us and you could be our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Sketches

I am combining challenges for this simple card:

CAS on Sunday - Challenge #69 - Washi Tape
Stamp Away With Me -Throwback Thursday Challenge #8

This set usually gets a reaction at first glance!  I used Ink Splats by WPlus9 and the sentiment from CASual Friday Stamps.  Splattered a little bit of Wink of Stella green and added a strip of washi tape.

Playing also with Fusion Card Challenge

The sketch isn't exact, but I have a problem with tilted layers!  I used various stamps on this and some sponging with Distress Inks.  I stamped the sentiment directly on the tag, but it didn't stand out, so I stamped in on some lighter cardstock and used an oval punch.  The tag is from my new die set from Tim Holtz and is tied with some raffia.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Just Us Girls #315 - Color Week

Chris is our hostess for our Color Challenge at Just Us Girls this week and her color choice has perfect timing for me to make my grandsons Halloween cards!

Come on over to the JUGS Challenge Blog to see what our Guest Designer - Julie Gearinger and the rest of the Design Team have done with these colors.

I inked up the large chevron embossing folder with black ink, the placed the purple cardstock in the folder and ran it through my Big Shot.  Stamped the BOO with black ink on the orange banner, then again on white cardstock and cutting the O's out and paper piecing them over the original Os and added some small black punched holes to make the eyes.

Now, it's your turn to join us at Just Us Girls and show us what these colors inspire you to create.  You could be our next Guest Designer, which would make you eligible to possibly become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

I would also like to enter this in The Male Room Challenge - Halloween.

Halloween!

The Male Room has the perfect challenge this week - Halloween!  I love playing at The Male Room because I have 4 grandsons.

Inked the striped embossing folder with black ink then ran it through my Big Shot with  orange cardstock.  Stamped the image by Gina K with black ink on white and sponged on the purple and black inks.  Added some gel pens in yellow and white to the windows and ghost.  Added the Tim Holtz flourish die cut and the webbed ribbon.

Thanks for taking a look!

Just Us Girls Trend Week #314

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and Nancy has chosen the trend of using a stencil.

We have Julie Gearinger, our October Guest Designer with us again this week.  Come on over to Just Us Girls Challenge Blog and show us what you can do with stencils.

I'm still on a sympathy roll from last week's challenge.  The striped layer was stenciled with Antique Linen Distress Ink and the flowers from Unity Stamps stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa and the sentiment from Gina K in Memento Espresso Truffle.

I hope you will come and play in our Trend Challenge, who knows, you could be our next Chic of the Week, and that would make you eligible to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls Word Week #313

It's my turn to be your hostess at Just Us Girls for our Word Week Challenge.  Sympathy cards can be very difficult to make, yet we always seem to need them, so my challenge word for you is Sympathy.

I would like to welcome our Guest Designer for the month of October - Julie Gearinger.   Come over to Just Us Girls to get some inspiration from Julie and the rest of the Design Team.

I used an old Stampin Up 2 step flower set for this.  Stamped with Hero Arts inks and then colored the backside with a Prismacolor Colorless Blender that I learned from Jennifer McGuire's blog - No Water Watercoloring.  She called it waterless watercolor.  I think I should have blended the flower on the right a little more.

Come join us at Just Us Girls and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running to become our next Guest Designer for the month of December!  Please limit your entries to 3.
