Balloons and Pineapples

A couple of challenges inspired my Balloon card.

And CAS on Sunday - Balloons

For your blog

First stamped the sentiment and dotted borders, then masked that off and stamped the balloons and strings.  Colored in the open circles on the borders with a red gel pen.  Stamps by CAS-ual Fridays and WPlus9.

I also had to play with my new stamps from Concord & 9th, so used the sketch from CAS Colours and Sketches

Stamped the stripes from Joy stamp set with Memento Rich Cocoa on kraft.  Die cut a couple of shapes and added the pineapple from Pop Art Pineapples stamped with Memento Cantaloupe and Rich Cocoa and stamped the sentiment from Layers of Love in Memento Espresso Truffle.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Just Us Girls #358 - Photo Week

Judy has an amazing photo for our inspiration this week at Just Us Girls!  There are so many directions you can go with this.

I would like to thank Colleen Foelker for being such an amazing Guest Designer for us this past month!  Come check out how Colleen and the rest of the JUGS Design Team were inspired by this photo.

I was inspired by the flowing background and the feathers.  I used a premade card base from Concord & 9th, it already has the watercolor on it.  Die cut the feathers from 2 shades of coral vellum and the sentiment dies by Tim Holtz.  Added some sequins and enamel dots and accidentally had a perfectly round drop of glue, so sprinkled on some glitter.

Come show us how you are inspired by the photo and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week,, which would put you in the running to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #357 - Color Week

Lisa has some beautiful colors for us to work with this week for our Color Challenge at Just Us Girls!

We have our August Guest Designer - Colleen Foelker with us again this week!  Come on over to the JUGS blog to see what Colleen and the rest of the JUGS Design Team have created with these beautiful, beachy colors.

These are the exact colors used for the invitations to my son and daughter-in-laws wedding!  Their anniversary is coming up next month and it was perfect timing to create this anniversary card for them.  The aqua panel is hard to see, but I used Bokeh Dots from Ellen Hutson on the background in white and then embossed.   The shells and sentiment is from Gina K.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then put you in the running for becoming our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Believe

Everyone should always Believe in miracles!

Using the sketch from Reverse Confetti

39_Aug2016

I used a pre-made polka dot note card for the base.  Grabbed some black and white striped patterned paper from my stash pile and sponged on some Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick to tone it down.  Also sponged the back panel of the dotted strip and around the sentiment with Worn Lipstick.  It seemed to need  a little something more so grabbed an old butterfly punch and added the butterfly from patterned paper, sponged the edges and added the little pearls.

Thanks for taking a closer look!

At the Shore

Using the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches

I bought some Tim Holtz Speciality Stamping Paper and finally took out a piece to play with.  I must say that this card took a totally different direction from what I envisioned after I started sponging on the Distress Inks.  I thought it would be smooth and blend beautifully, but instead got this swirly effect which ended up being perfect for the water and sky.  The images are from Gina K and colored with Distress Ink Markers.

Thanks for dropping by!

Fore!

Using the theme from The Male Room Olympics/Sports

And the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches

I just love this old golfer!  He is colored with Touch Twin markers and the cut "out of the box" leaving the golf club out of the frame then matting onto some Charcoal Brown cardstock from Gina K.  Stamped and die cut the golf ball and added some clear Wink of Stella and added to the layered tag made from my scrap pile.  The polka dot card base is from Lawn Fawn.

Thanks for taking a look!

Just Us Girls #356 - Trend Week

It's time to play  with some of the hottest trends out there for our Trend Week at Just Us Girls!  Ina is our hostess this week and has chosen Watercolor which has been a hot trend for quite a while now.

Come see what our talented Guest Designer, Colleen Foelker and the rest of the JUGS Design Team have done with Watercolor!

This started out to be a no line watercoloring, but it lacked any definition, so after the watercolor dried I stamped one of the layering pieces in Distress Ink Abandoned Coral on the flower and Peeled Paint on the leaves and blended with a wet brush.  Added the gray by picking up the color off of an Inktense watercolor pencil in Charcoal.   Added the splatters with a wet brush and picked up the color from some Worn Lipstick Distress Ink smeared on my craft mat.  All stamps from Altenew.

I would also like to enter this for the August Altenew Inspiration Challenge

Come show us your watercolor creations at Just Us Girls and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Sending Love

Another card for my niece to let her know we are thinking of her and love her while she continues her battle with breast cancer.

Used the sketch from CAS on Sunday

The Code Word from Addicted to CAS Challenge #94 - Music

And this week's colors from CAS Colours & Sketches

I didn't have the exact colors so improvised with what I had on hand.  The world, love and arrow are from Concord & 9th, sending is from Avery Elle and the music image is from Gina K.  Stamped the world first, masked it and stamped the arrow.  Left the mask in place and masked off the rectangular area and stamped the music image twice.   Stamped the love with Versamark over the world and heat embossed with light blue ep.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Another baby boy is joining our family soon, this will make our 5th grandson!
