Snowman Sketch

Playing along with Freshly Made Sketches

Stretching that panel just a bit!  Die cut the Tim Holtz snowman and sponged with Weathered Wood Distress Ink, then die cut the 25 also by Tim Holtz out of the snowman base.  Spritzed him with some Heidi Swapp white shimmer mist.  Colored the 25 and spritzed with some shine mist and placed back in the die cut area. Stamped the sentiment in Memento Nautical Blue and did another inlaid die with the fishtail tags.  Placed on a piece of blue striped cardstock from my stash pile and matted with some navy and placed onto some SU Bordering Blue for the card base.

Thanks for taking a look!

Shiny Christmas

It's been a while since I played along with Retro Sketches.  I really like this sketch.

Metallic papers are really hard to get a good photo of.  I used some of my Reverse Confetti dies for the tag and topper and the gold striped piece.  Die cut some ornaments from metallic silver and purple foil and added some rub ons.  Die cut the snowflake border in a lighter purple then used an old background stamp (I think it is by Anna Griffin) to stamp the center of the card base with Memento Elderberry ink.  Added some gold and silver twine to the ornaments and used the same twine for the bow on top of the tag.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Witchy

Another Halloween card using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

.

This is another unknown stamp from a friend.  Stamped it onto light yellow cardstock, sponged the edges with Memento Cantaloupe ink.  Stamped the image again on another piece of cardstock, heat embossed with black ep then cut the witch and her broom out and adhered her over the original image.  Strips of cardstock from my basket of scraps were added.

Smile

Sending more love to my niece.  I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!

Stamped the flower from the Altenew Peony set with Memento Elderberry and Sweet Plum and WPlus9 white ink on some pale plum cardstock.  Masked the flower and stamped the Grunge from Basic Gray with the Sweet Plum then stamped the Smile from Gina K with the Elderberry.  I didn't have any cardstock to match the Elderberry ink so I took some white cardstock and inked the edges with the Elderberry for a perfect match and then layered onto a plum card base.

Thanks for taking a look!

Just Us Girls #366 - Photo Week

Chris is inspiring us this week at Just Us Girls with a fabulous photo!

We have with us again this week our wonderful Guest Designer Jaydee.  Check out what Jaydee and the rest of the JUGS Design Team have created with this photo for inspiration.

I was inspired by the black cat and the jack-o-lanterns.  Started out by reverse masking to sponge various shades of yellow Distress Inks for the moon, then masked the moon and sponged the night sky in black and blue Distress Inks.  Stamped and heat embossed the cat, cut him out and placed him partially over the moon.  Stamped, colored and cut out the pumpkins.  Stamped directly over the moon with the little bats and sentiment.  Stamps are from Gina K and the cat is from Studio G.

Do you feel inspired by this Photo?  If so, come play along with us at Just Us Girls and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Fight Like A Girl

Yet another card for my niece who is still fighting breast cancer.  And the timing was perfect for my inspiration from CAS-ual Fridays.

This WTF set from CAS-ual Fridays is really an attention getter!  Stamped the WTF? with Hero Arts Bubble Gum ink and the dots from the same set in Hero Arts neon pink.  Masked off part of the Where's The Fun so I could change fun to fight and used a label maker to add the fight.  Pulled out a Gina K set to add the lace borders.

Great challenge and perfect for supporting the fight against breast cancer.   Thanks for visiting!

More Halloween

Third card done out of five for my grandsons.  This one is inspired by Cardz 4 Guyz - Boo! Halloween.

The house image was in a bag of stamps gifted to me from a friend and I don't know who it's from.  Stamped  and colored with Distress Markers.  The little skull dude  is from There She Goes and was colored with Touch Twin markers and silver gel pen on the blade then cut out.  Added a strip of caution washi tape.  Purple polka dot paper from my stash.

Three down, 2 to go!  Thanks for dropping by!

Halloween!

I've been working on Halloween cards for my grandsons. and the theme at The Male Room and CAS on Sunday are both Halloween!  I also used the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches on one of them.

For your blog

I used some really old stamps from my stash, unknown who they are by since I didn't keep them in their original package.  Stamped the little Dracula and colored with Touch Twin markers and cut him out.  Grabbed a scrap of green striped paper and stamped the spider.  Taped some washi tape onto some white cardstock, trimmed  and cut the fishtail.  Put it all together on a Lawn Fawn gray dotted notecard.

This one uses some old Stampin Up alpha stamps.  Stamped in some eyeballs and colored.  Stamped the flying skulls.  Adhered to an American Crafts purple and white striped card base.  Added some black glaze gel pen and a couple of dots of Viva Decor Paper Pen in red.

Two down and 3 more to go!  Thanks for stopping by!

Just Us Girls #365 - Color Week

It's Color Week at Just Us Girls and Judy has chosen a gorgeous Color palette for us to work with.  I love fall and the warm, rich colors that go along with it!

Come see what our talented Guest Designer - Jaydee and the rest of the JUGS Design Team have created with this warm, beautiful colors.

This ended up being more difficult than I thought!  Sponged rust and olive inks through the Stamplorations leaf stencil, then stamped the sentiment from Concord & 9th with versamark and heat embossed with gold ep.  The gold embossing got lost among the leafy background, so I pulled out an olive marker and  outlined it.  Not the greatest, but at least you can now see the sentiment.

Come join us at Just Us Girls for our Color Week and you could be chosen as our Chic of the Week, which would then put you in the running for a chance to become our next Guest Designer.  Please limit your entries to 3.

Watercolor Christmas

This is the first Christmas card I have made this year.

Addicted to CAS - Watercolor

Using Gina K - A Year of Flowers, stamped the poinsettia with Versamark and heat embossed with a dark red embossing powder on watercolor paper.  Added some leaves and heat embossed with green embossing powder.  Then watercolored the image with Distress Inks in Fired Brick, Festive Berries, Forest Moss and Fresh Squeezed Lemonade smeared on a kraft sheet picking up the color with a waterbrush.  Then did a light layer of the yellow around the poinsettia.  Stamped the sentiment in Memento Pine (?) 4 times with my MISTI and it was still a little blottchy, so stamped in onto some white cardstock and trimmed it to fit over the original stamping and cut the end into a fishtail.  After it was all put together I added a little bit of yellow Stickles to the flower center.

Thank you for stopping by for a closer look!

Just Us Girls #364 - Trend Week

It was my turn to choose a Trend for this week's challenge at Just Us Girls.  I have seen so many new pineapple stamps on the market and many cards featuring this tasty fruit.  So let's see some Pineapples!

We have Jaydee with us again this week as our October Guest Designer.  Check out what Jaydee and the rest of the JUGS Design Team have created using Pineapples.

All stamped are from Concord & 9th..Stamped the Barn Wood stamp with Memento Rich Cocoa onto some Kraft.  Stamped more Rich Cocoa onto some yellow for the pineapple and Bamboo Leaves for then die cut and assembled them onto the Barn Wood.  Stamped the ribbon banner and sentiment and die cut.  Then finished off with the little flowers.  Card base is from Lawn Fawn.

Come on over to Just Us Girls and play along with us in our Trend Challenge.  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance at becoming our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

You Got This!

Sending yet another card off to my niece who is continuing her battle with breast cancer.

I was inspired by a couple of challenges:
TIME OUT Challenges #67 - Theme of Breast Cancer Awareness and/or Friendship.

Optional Technique Twist:  embossing and/or use pink

TIME OUT Challenges

And CAS on Sunday - Challenge #93 Heat Embossing

For your blog

This card started with the little tag that I stamped the light pink little hearts on then heat embossed the breast cancer ribbon, yes that is my heat embossing.  Then I turned to my scrap pile and grabbed the pink plaid, black and white striped, hot pink and black papers/cardstock to build this.  I love when I don't have to cut a full sheet of paper/cardstock.  The card base is from Lawn Fawn.  Sentiment by Hero Arts, little hearts by Altenew and the ribbon from LR Art (dated 2005).  Tag dies from Tim Holtz and Reverse Confetti.  Finished off the tag by adding a black die cut hole inforcer (?) and added a glittery pink enamel dot.

So glad you stopped by!

Just Us Girls #363 - Word Week

I would like to welcome our Guest Designer for the month of October - Jaydee .  Come see what  and the rest of the talented JUGS Design Team have created with the word Leaves as inspiration.

Stamped the background with Gina K's A Year of Leaves in copper and gold inks on kraft then added some Prismacolor pencils in cream and peach to make them stand out better.  Die Cut some leaves and sponged on some gold and copper ink and added a die cut bow and attached to the Swirlie from Reverse Confetti.  Stamped the Altenew Label Love sentiment on ivory and die cut with with a Spellbinders ribbon slider die.  Threaded a lighter brown strip of cardstock through the ribbon slider and layered onto a darker brown strip of cardstock.
